Dog and Cat Care
We provide veterinary care for dogs and cats that is both “state-of-the-art” and “state-of-the-heart”, with an emphasis on caring for both the patient and the family. Services include:
- Canine and feline medicine and surgery - We own or access the most advanced medical diagnostic and treatment equipment and techniques available in veterinary medicine today. Additionally, we perform both outpatient routine surgeries such as spays and neuters as well as more advanced procedures such as exploratory surgeries, cruciate repairs, patellar luxation repairs, bladder stone removals, and tumor removals. In addition to traditional methods, we offer advanced techniques such as laser surgery and cryosurgery, allowing our doctors to choose the most appropriate method to treat their patients.
- Laser Declaw - For our feline patients, we offer a laser declaw procedure using our state-of-art Aesculight CO2 surgical laser. This procedure provides many advantages over traditional methods such as reduced bleeding, swelling, and discomfort, allowing for a faster recovery.
- Dentistry – We provide professional dental cleanings, using state-of-the-art compressor driven Schein dental units and ultrasonic scalers. We also perform simple and surgical dental extractions when indicated.
- In-House Laboratory – Our in-house laboratory includes an Abaxis serum chemistry machine that allows us to analyze blood samples quickly. For critically ill patients, we can obtain blood results in under 20 minutes and, for some patients, every minute counts. Other lab equipment we own in-house include: Olympus binocular microscope, refractometer, centrifuge and Stat-Spin centrifuge, Alphatrac glucometer, and Idexx Snap ELISA tests.
- In-House Pharmacy – Our full service in-house veterinary pharmacy is fully stocked with a wide range of competitively priced quality medications and pet care products.
- Diagnostic Ultrasound – We use a GE LOGIQ e Vet Ultrasound unit for performing diagnostic ultrasounds of the abdomen and echocardiograms of the heart. When indicated, we consult with radiology specialists to obtain interpretations in difficult cases.
- Electrocardiography – We own and use a Vetronics computerized ECG machine to assist in the diagnosis of heart diseases in dogs and cats. The ECG also allows us to screen presurgical and senior patients for dangerous conditions before they become evident.
- Blood Pressure Monitors – We own and utilize both a Parks doppler and a PetMap oscillometric blood pressure monitor to aid in the diagnosis of hypertension in both dogs and cats.
- Cardell Multiparameter Monitor and Pulse Oximeters – These high-tech devices allow for monitoring multiple key physiological parameters in anesthetized or seriously ill patients. This allows doctors to make rapid, critical, and life-saving adjustments to a patient’s care.
- Digital Radiography – We own and operate an Idexx computerized digital radiography unit to produce digital x-ray images. Digital images can be easily manipulated and optimized for analysis as well as emailed or copied to disc for transfer to another facility.
